Privacy Policy

Overview

PerCycle is built on a single principle: your health data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains what data PerCycle collects, how it is stored, and what happens to it. The short version is that PerCycle collects nothing from you, transmits nothing about you, and has no servers that could ever be breached to expose your data.

1. Data We Collect

PerCycle allows you to log cycle dates, flow intensity, symptoms, mood, energy, sleep, stress, and notes. All of this information is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's on-device database technology. None of it is transmitted to PerCycle, to any third party, or to any server anywhere in the world.

We do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or any account credentials
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data
  • Usage analytics transmitted off your device
  • Any health or medical information

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All data you enter into PerCycle is stored locally on your iPhone using SwiftData, Apple's on-device database framework. Your data is protected by iOS Data Protection with Complete Protection enabled, meaning your health data is cryptographically inaccessible when your device is locked.

Your data is explicitly excluded from iCloud backup at the filesystem level. This means your cycle data does not flow to Apple's iCloud servers as part of device backups.

You can protect your data further by enabling Face ID or PIN lock within the app. PerCycle also activates a privacy screen when the app enters the iOS app switcher, preventing your health data from being visible in the multitasking view.

3. Data Transmission

PerCycle makes zero network requests. There are no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting frameworks, no advertising networks, and no third-party services integrated into the app. You can verify this independently — PerCycle will never appear in any network traffic monitor.

The only network activity associated with PerCycle is the App Store purchase flow managed entirely by Apple when you subscribe to PerCycle Pro. This transaction is handled exclusively by Apple and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. PerCycle never sees your payment information.

4. PerCycle Pro Subscriptions

PerCycle Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple's App Store. All billing is handled by Apple. PerCycle does not process, store, or have access to any payment information. Your subscription status is verified on-device through Apple's StoreKit framework.

Subscription management, cancellation, and refund requests are handled through your Apple ID account settings. To cancel your subscription, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

5. Data Export and Portability

PerCycle allows you to export all of your health data at any time as a JSON or CSV file through Settings → Data Management. This export is generated locally on your device and shared through iOS's native share sheet. PerCycle does not receive a copy of your exported data.

You can also delete all of your data at any time through Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data. This action is immediate and irreversible. It removes all cycle records, symptom logs, preferences, and app state from your device.

6. Children's Privacy

PerCycle is rated 12+ on the App Store and is designed to be appropriate for users aged 11 and older, reflecting the typical age of menarche. Because PerCycle collects no personal information and transmits no data, there is no special risk to younger users beyond what is inherent in any iOS app. Parents are encouraged to review the app's features with younger users.

7. Fertility and Health Information

PerCycle provides cycle predictions, phase estimates, and fertility window estimates for informational and planning purposes only. These estimates are based on statistical patterns in your logged data and are not medically certified or regulated. They should not be used as a method of contraception or for medical decision-making.

PerCycle is not a medical device and has not received clearance from the FDA, CE, or any other regulatory body. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical advice.

8. Third-Party Services

PerCycle does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers. There are no third parties to disclose data to because no data leaves your device.

9. Changes to This Policy

If PerCycle's data practices change in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated and the date at the top of this page will be revised. Any material change that affects how your data is handled will be communicated through an in-app notice prior to the change taking effect.
