Overview

PerCycle is built on a single principle: your health data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains what data PerCycle collects, how it is stored, and what happens to it.

The short version: PerCycle collects nothing from you, transmits nothing about you, and has no servers that could ever be breached to expose your data.

By using PerCycle, you also agree to our Terms of Service, which contain important disclaimers about medical use, contraception, and liability. Please read both documents.

1. Data We Collect

PerCycle allows you to log cycle dates, flow intensity, symptoms, mood, energy, sleep, stress, basal body temperature, LH test results, cervical mucus, and notes. All of this information is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's on-device database technology (SwiftData). None of it is transmitted to PerCycle, to any third party, or to any server anywhere in the world.

We do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or any account credentials
  • Location data of any kind
  • Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data transmitted off your device
  • Usage analytics transmitted off your device
  • Any health, medical, or biometric information
  • IP addresses or network metadata

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All data you enter into PerCycle is stored locally on your iPhone using SwiftData, Apple's on-device database framework. Your data is protected by iOS Data Protection with Complete Protection enabled, meaning your health data is cryptographically inaccessible when your device is locked.

Your cycle data is explicitly excluded from iCloud backup at the filesystem level. This means your cycle records do not flow to Apple's iCloud servers as part of standard device backups.

3. Data Transmission

PerCycle makes zero network requests. There are no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting frameworks, no advertising networks, and no third-party services of any kind integrated into the app.

The only network activity associated with PerCycle is:

  • App Store purchase flow: Managed entirely by Apple when you subscribe to PerCycle Pro.
  • Partner Sync (Bluetooth): An optional, peer-to-peer encrypted local Bluetooth connection directly to your paired partner's device. This data is never routed through any server or internet connection.

4. Partner Sync Feature

Specifically:

  • What is shared: A cycle phase label (e.g., "Menstrual Phase"), the relative number of days until the next predicted phase, and whether the Hormonal Shield is active. No raw dates, exact cycle counts, logs, or symptom details are ever transmitted.
  • How it works: Local device-to-device communication via Core Bluetooth. No internet or server is involved.
  • Your control: Partner Sync is entirely opt-in. You can disable it at any time.

5. PerCycle Pro Subscriptions

All billing is handled by Apple. PerCycle does not process, store, or have access to any payment information. Subscription management is handled through: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

6. Data Export and Deletion

  • Export: You can export your data as JSON or CSV at any time.
  • Deletion: Deleting your data is immediate and irreversible. Because we store no data on servers, there is nothing for us to delete on our end—it is entirely in your control.

7. Children's Privacy

PerCycle is rated 12+ on the App Store. Because PerCycle collects no personal information, there is no elevated data risk to younger users.

8. Fertility and Medical Disclaimer

Predictions and estimates are for informational purposes only. They are not medically certified and must not be used as a method of contraception. PerCycle is not a medical device.

9. Third-Party Frameworks (On-Device Only)

  • SwiftData: Encrypted local storage
  • HealthKit: Optional read-only access for biometrics
  • StoreKit: Subscription verification
  • Core Bluetooth: Local Partner Sync
  • Core Motion: Visual dashboard effects

10. CCPA & GDPR

Because PerCycle collects no personal information and does not sell or share data with third parties, there is no personal information to access, correct, or delete under CCPA or GDPR. All data remains in your custody on your physical device.
